1024 New Territories Flag Day | Her Choices, Creating Possibilities

Since 1981, the Hong Kong Federation of Women’s Centres (HKFWC) has been supporting grassroots women through different stages of their lives. We provide a wide range of services tailored to their needs in family life, employment, and personal development, including counselling and legal services, carer support, economic empowerment programmes, holistic health initiatives, and gender equality education. Every year, we serve more than 280,000 people.

We believe that women need more than support. They need the freedom to choose.

When women receive the right support amidst heavy caring responsibilities and daily life pressures, they gain the time and opportunity to care for themselves, develop their abilities, and reimagine their future. Every form of support creates another choice, and every choice opens up new possibilities.

As HKFWC celebrates its 45th anniversary this year, we are delighted to collaborate with local illustrator @dear__project to design this year’s Flag Day paper flags, inspired by the work of our women’s centres and the stories of the women we serve.

With approval from the Social Welfare Department, HKFWC will hold a Flag Day in the New Territories on Saturday, 24 October 2026, to raise funds for our low-income family service programmes and the daily operation of our service centres, enabling us to continue providing community based support for women.

As HKFWC is not a regularly government funded organisation, the continuity of our services depends greatly on the generous support of the community. This Flag Day is especially important in helping us sustain our services for women and families in need.
