A Day for Mothers to Rest - Hang Seng Bank “Merry Balloon Community Day”

Many mothers spend every day juggling work and family responsibilities, leaving little room for real rest or quality time to play with their children. We sincerely thank Hang Seng Bank for inviting HKFWC to bring nearly 100 grassroots women, carers and children from the Jockey Club Lai Kok Centre and the Jockey Club Wah Fu Centre to join the “Merry Balloon Community Day” held on 10 January 2026 ????, creating a rare space for busy families to truly relax, laugh and simply be together.

On the day, the Executive Director and Chief Executive of Hang Seng Bank Luanne Lim leaded over 40 Hang Seng volunteers to give their full support by sharing the caregiving responsibilities, accompanying children as they ran, jumped and explored ⚡, so that mothers could finally take a real breather and momentarily put down the constant pressure of caring. The venue featured a 7-metre-high inflatable slide, a 40-metre ball race track and multiple giant character balloons ????, allowing both children and adults to release their energy through laughter and play, while reconnecting as families in a way they seldom have the chance to.

For many grassroots families, this was not just a day of fun, but a powerful message ????: caregiving should not rest solely on the shoulders of mothers. When the community and the corporate sector step in to share the responsibility, mothers gain the space to rest again, and families gain the strength to keep moving forward. Our heartfelt thanks go to Hang Seng Bank and its volunteer team for standing with grassroots women and caregivers and for creating a day in which they were truly seen, supported and cared for.
