Jockey Club NOW Plus Project: New Opportunities for Women in Career Development

After learning from the experience and response of the HKJC: New Opportunities for Women (NOW) in Home-based Self-employment, we received the support of the Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust to promote the second phase of the project: Jockey Club NOW Plus Project: New Opportunities for Women in Career Development. Further expanding the support for entrepreneurship, creating a creative incubation room to provide training courses and platforms for women who are interested in starting a business, and also integrating many social enterprises to provide more work opportunities for women.

The three-year Jockey Club NOW Plus Project: New Opportunities for Women in Career Development takes social enterprises (Timelosophy, sis works, Elderly Home-care), entrepreneurship, and childcare as the three main elements to provide women-friendly job opportunities and to allow more women to develop personally while taking care of their families. We are visioning that through the three years of experimentation and promotion, this can become an exemplar in the job market: encouraging enterprises and the government to introduce more employment measures to support women and creating a more women-friendly work environment.
